Why Do We Have Bones? The Skeleton Keeps Us Moving | Kids’ Song

Why does my soft cloth doll flop down? Like a scarf, it slumps onto the floor I slide some light sticks through the cloth Its floppy body finds a shape The frame inside now holds it upright All our bones together form our skeleton Bones give us shape and help us stand Joints connect them, letting us bend Muscles pull our bones to make us move We walk, wave our hands, and jump I join the sticks with moving clips Like joints, they link and let limbs bend These strings are muscles in my model I pull; the doll bends arms and legs Bones give us shape and help us stand Joints connect them, letting us bend Muscles pull our bones to make us move We walk, wave our hands, and jump A dome and ring cover soft pom-poms The skull helps shelter the brain inside Ribs help protect the heart and lungs Bones give us shape and help us stand Joints connect them, letting us bend Muscles pull our bones to make us move We walk, wave our hands, and jump My doll and I bend as we dance I feel my skeleton hold me up
